Coolidge Corner
The Holiday Inn is located a 2-minute walk from the Coolidge Corner, the bustling commercial center of Brookline. There is a wide choice of restaurants, cafes, and bars. The organizers especially recommend the following places (in alphabetical order):

Boca Grande Taqueria ($, Zagat 19) Mexican fast food. 
The Daily Catch ($$, Zagat 25) Very good seafood and black pasta. Small dining room.
Fugakyu ($$$, Zagat 25) Very good sushi. Good for groups.
Hops N Scotch ($$, Zagat 22) Drinks and pub food. Late night menu.
J.P. Licks ($) Boston's place for homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt and fresh-roasted coffee.
Lineage ($$$, Zagat 25) New American. Menu changes daily.
Paris Creperie ($, Zagat 24) Crepes. Smoothies. Omelets. Coffee.
Upper Crust Pizzeria ($$, Zagat 22) Pizza.
Yasu ($$) Korean BBQ. Sushi. Good for groups. 
In addition, Coolidge Corner features numerous coffee shops (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc), and a Trader Joe's with a decent wine store.

St. Mary Street Stop
Not in Coolidge Corner, but a short 4-minute walk from the hotel you can find
Sichuan Gourmet ($$, Zagat 26) Excellent Chinese. Good for groups.
Sushi Express ($) Cheap but good sushi.

Washington Square
Washington Square Tavern ($$, Zagat 24) A favorite destination of number theorists and algebraic geometers.
The Publick House ($$, Zagat 25) Excellent selection of brews. A favorite destination of low dimensional topologists.

Cleveland Circle 
To energize before a walk around the Reservoir, you can stop at a Starbucks or one of the three taquerias next to the Cleveland Circle T and Reservoir T stops. 

Boston College Campus
El Pelón Taqueria ($, Zagat 25) Very good burritos.

Hillside Cafe Closed on weekends.
The following two dining locations on the middle campus are located at the McElroy Hall (next to Carney Hall):
Carney's Featuring several hot and cold food stations with a good amount of choices.
The Eagles Nest Deli sandwiches, salads, soups. Closed on weekends.
